The Infant & Toddler Forum call for Government action

The Infant & Toddler Forum is calling for action on the nutritional health of the under threes. The Forum, for which Say.Health acts as the Secretariat, held a briefing meeting at Westminster to launch their discussion document calling for national guidelines on nutrition for the under threes, a critical age-group omitted in the majority of Government policies.

Chaired by Earl Howe, the Shadow Minister for Health, speakers included MP Graham Allen and representatives from the Institute of Child Health and the Infant & Toddler Forum. The briefing highlighted the importance of early nutrition to long term health, calling for toddler nutrition to be placed at the heart of Government strategy to combat child and adult obesity.

The Forum’s new website for parents (www.littlepeoplesplates.co.uk) aims to cut through the confusion surrounding a healthy, balanced diet for the under threes, and extends its current reach beyond healthcare professionals.
