‘A Boy Called Alex’

Say Communications has been appointed to complete a pro bono PR campaign to raise the profile of a unique and exciting charity event. Cystic fibrosis sufferer Alex Stobbs, 18, is to conduct Bach’s St Matthew Passion on 5th April 2009 at London’s Cadogan Hall, with the help of The Rodolfus Choir.

Say is working to raise awareness of the event as well as of Alex’s condition, which means that each day the young musician faces a massive cocktail of drugs, injections and intense physiotherapy. This will be Alex’s second major conducting job, already having successfully organised and performed Bach’s Magnificat. A Cutting Edge documentary, “A Boy Called Alex”, following Alex’s story charted his first success, and will be repeated on Christmas day.
